Why Art is Important!
Rules students must follow when in the art room:
  1. Raise your hand when you would like to talk and wait to be called on.
  2. Use a respectful, indoor voice
  3. Keep your hands (and art supplies) to yourself.
  4. Walk carefully through the room.
  5. Have a positive work attitude, persevere and do your best.
  6. Talk only during ' work time.'
  7. Clean your own messes.
  8. Ask permission before you get out of your seat.
Consequences for breaking rules:
First Offense: Warning
Second Offense
: Teacher/Student Conference, time out
Third Offense
: Card change in classroom
Fourth Offense
: Phone call/note home
Fifth Offense
: White slip

*Severe disruptions will automatically result in a white slip referral.  These include, but are not limited to, fighting, intimidation toward other students, or destruction of school property

Positive Reinforcements:

*Art Stars!!!!!!!
Each time students/classes come for art they will try to earn an art star for their class paint palette!  The classes that fill up their paint palette at the end of each grading period will earn a special art day.  However, art stars are hard to earn!  Only classes that work hard and as a team to follow the art room rules will be able to earn an art star.

*Mona Bucks!!!!!!
In addition to earning an art star as a class students can individually earn Mona bucks for their good behavior. Mona Bucks are used as money that students earn and save until the end of each grading period. At the end of the grading period student's Mona Bucks will be added up and used to buy prizes from the Art Room Art Store. The Art Store is filled with different types of candy, art supplies, games, and toys each costing a different amount of money.  A few ways students can earn Mona Bucks by are the following: coming in to the art room quietly, answering questions correctly, helping others, cleaning up well, etc.
